Moving into a new apartment in Dubai means setting up your Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) account. The process is straightforward but time-sensitive — most landlords require activation before handing over keys.

What You Need

  • Ejari-registered tenancy contract
  • Valid Emirates ID (or passport + visa for new residents)
  • Security deposit: AED 2,000 for apartments, AED 4,000 for villas
  • DEWA premise number (from landlord or building management)

How to Apply

  1. Visit the DEWA app or website (dewa.gov.ae)
  2. Select "Move In" under services
  3. Upload your Ejari and Emirates ID
  4. Pay the deposit and AED 110 connection fee
  5. Activation typically occurs within 24 hours
