Moving into a new apartment in Dubai means setting up your Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) account. The process is straightforward but time-sensitive — most landlords require activation before handing over keys.
What You Need
- Ejari-registered tenancy contract
- Valid Emirates ID (or passport + visa for new residents)
- Security deposit: AED 2,000 for apartments, AED 4,000 for villas
- DEWA premise number (from landlord or building management)
How to Apply
- Visit the DEWA app or website (dewa.gov.ae)
- Select "Move In" under services
- Upload your Ejari and Emirates ID
- Pay the deposit and AED 110 connection fee
- Activation typically occurs within 24 hours
